My PC is now fixed and in full working order!
It was the graphics card that had broken so the lovely tech guy who came installed a new one and due to the protection plan I have I didn't even need to pay for it. Score!
I'm currently in the middle of backing up all my videos, photos and music to an external hard drive... Just in case.
