Nico Nico live
Jul. 25th, 2010 04:06 amSo, I just finished watching the live stream of Gackt's last European YFC show in Germany.
Firstly, thanks to
excused_early for keeping me company throughout the show! Have you stopped crying now??!!
Secondly, the director at Nico Nico needs to learn how to edit a show. It was awful. I've see bootleg recordings that have better direction and camera angles than that. You barely saw any of the band for the first few songs and they missed pretty much everything of any importance. It became better as the concert progressed but was still pretty poor.
After the state Gackt was left in after the last live, I didn't quite know what to expect from him. At times it seemed pretty obvious that he was being careful with his performance and vocals and wasn't going as wild as usual but at other times it was as if he was perfectly fine. Jesus and Flower were pretty painful to watch at times and by the end of Flower he looked like he couldn't lift his head, let alone stand up but it just shows how strong his will, drive and mind is that he's able to perform as he does despite the limitations of his body.
Either that or he's nuts. You decide.
Although I could barely understand a word of the English version of 'Mind Forest', I was pretty impressed with his spoken English. I hear Japanese people speaking English everyday and they all fall into the same traps when it comes to pronunciation. Even those with the biggest vocabularies and best grammar are prone to speaking in 'katakana English' or having the wrong stresses and tones every now and then but Gackt really doesn't.
He's overly fond of the word "fuck" though. Especially when he's asking the crowd to show how much they want to fuck *him*.
It was fun to watch, albeit a little scary in places, and I think it's obvious to see how much of a kick Gackt and Job are getting out of seeing the European audiences go as wild for them as they are.
(And the glowsticks for Flower looked awesome.)
It's 4AM here now. I should really go to bed.
ETA - I've just seen someone in a full rage because some photos they took at one the of European lives have been taken and reposted without permission. I really, really want to reply and say that it's only fair they've been taken without her permission as the photos were originally taken without *Gackt's* permission (and after he'd specifically asked for no photos to be taken) but I really don't want to start a war.
